Sermorelin is a synthetic 29-amino-acid peptide corresponding to the biologically active N-terminal region of human GHRH, also known as GRF(1-29)-NH2. It activates pituitary GHRH receptors to stimulate growth hormone secretion through a different receptor pathway from ghrelin receptor agonists. Its established clinical research history — including previous US FDA approval for paediatric growth hormone deficiency — distinguishes it from many newer experimental secretagogues. FAB Research supplies Sermorelin in a 10mg pre-filled metered research pen.
Sermorelin acts as an agonist at the GHRH receptor (GHRHR) on somatotroph cells of the anterior pituitary, activating Gs protein signalling, increasing intracellular cAMP and triggering calcium-dependent growth hormone secretion. Because its half-life is measured in minutes due to DPP-4 susceptibility, secretion follows the endogenous pulsatile pattern. Research documents synergy with ghrelin receptor agonists acting through the separate GHS-R1a pathway.
A well-characterised literature built on decades of GHRH research. Clinical use as a pituitary function diagnostic is extensively documented. Historical paediatric applications provide human safety and efficacy data unavailable for most newer secretagogues. Stability research examined DPP-4 susceptibility and the structural changes in later modified analogues. Combination pharmacology documented synergistic release with ghrelin receptor agonists. Note: listed by anti-doping authorities.
- 2.5 mg per application (one metered dose)
- 4 doses per pen (10 mg total)
- 29-amino-acid GHRH(1-29)-NH₂ fragment — biologically active N-terminal region of native GHRH
- Pre-filled sterile solution — no reconstitution step required
Storage: Store refrigerated at 2–8 °C in the original sealed box. Do not freeze. Protect from light.
- For in-vitro laboratory and preclinical research only — not for human or animal administration
- Sermorelin has a former FDA approval (Geref, for paediatric GH deficiency) — provides one of the most complete clinical reference safety profiles in the secretagogue class
- Very short half-life (minutes) — DPP-4-sensitive; unsuitable for sustained GH elevation study designs; preferred for pulsatile secretion models
- Distinct GHRH-R pathway from GHS-R1a agonists (GHRP-2/6, Ipamorelin) — synergistic GH release when combined; appropriate for dual-pathway studies
- From historical prescribing data (Geref, FDA approval): injection site reactions (11.8%), flushing (7.5%), headache, dizziness, nausea
- Transient water retention (GH-mediated sodium retention)
- Well-characterised safety profile relative to other experimental secretagogues — former regulatory approval provides a substantial clinical dataset
- No significant cortisol or prolactin elevation documented at diagnostic doses
Effects listed are observations from published research literature and are not predictions for any specific use. All FAB Research products are for in-vitro laboratory research — not for human or animal administration.
