BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound-157) is a synthetic pentadecapeptide investigated for its involvement in tissue-related signalling, gastrointestinal physiology and vascular biology. Containing 15 amino acids, it has attracted scientific attention through experimental studies examining cellular migration, connective tissue organisation and biological responses to injury. Research spans gastrointestinal tissue, tendons, ligaments, skeletal muscle and blood vessels, exploring cellular pathways involved in tissue maintenance and repair. Despite the breadth of experimental research, human clinical evidence remains extremely limited. FAB Research supplies BPC-157 in a 20mg pre-filled metered research pen, exclusively for scientific and laboratory investigation.
Sequence GEPPPGKPADDAGLV
The precise mechanism of action of BPC-157 remains incompletely characterised. The peptide has been investigated in relation to VEGF and VEGFR2 signalling associated with angiogenesis; nitric oxide regulation affecting vascular tone and cellular communication; fibroblast migration and collagen organisation in connective tissue models; and changes in growth hormone receptor expression in selected laboratory investigations. These pathways provide an experimental basis for the compound's association with tissue and vascular biology, but a complete causal mechanism has not been established.
BPC-157 has an extensive experimental research history relative to its limited human clinical evidence. A systematic review published in 2025 evaluated 36 studies relevant to musculoskeletal applications — 35 were preclinical and only one involved human participants. The review identified promising experimental findings but concluded that adequate human safety and efficacy data were lacking. Preclinical investigations span gastrointestinal tissue models, tendon and ligament studies, fibroblast migration assays and vascular angiogenesis models. Independent replication across multiple research groups is necessary before definitive conclusions can be drawn.
- 5 mg per application (one metered dose)
- 4 doses per pen (20 mg total)
- Pre-filled sterile solution — no reconstitution step required
- Most widely studied tissue repair peptide; GEPPPGKPADDAGLV sequence, 15 amino acids
Storage: Store refrigerated at 2–8 °C in the original sealed box. Do not freeze. Protect from light.
- For in-vitro laboratory and preclinical research only — not for human or animal administration
- Human clinical evidence base is extremely limited — 2025 systematic review of 36 studies found 35 preclinical and only 1 human study; preclinical findings cannot be directly extrapolated
- Mechanism incompletely characterised — VEGFR2, nitric oxide and fibroblast pathways are implicated but not conclusively established
- Gastric-origin peptide: relevant for GI tissue models; interpret VEGF/angiogenesis data with appropriate vascular controls
- No established human adverse effect profile — human clinical data insufficient to characterise
- Animal model studies: generally well tolerated at studied doses across multiple species and routes
- Gastrointestinal effects plausible given gastric-origin sequence and activity in GI tissue models
- 2025 systematic review concluded human safety and efficacy data are lacking
Effects listed are observations from published research literature and are not predictions for any specific use. All FAB Research products are for in-vitro laboratory research — not for human or animal administration.
